so my first attempt at making coconut milk yogurt didn't quite turn out how i expected. basically i have half a gallon of coconut milk kefir, but i blend it up with some frozen strawberries and blueberries and R loves it! i don't think we'll be able to go thru the whole half gallon in a week tho (the recipe says it only is good for about 7-10 days). another blogger did the same recipe with almond milk and suggested adding tapioca starch to thicken, so i may try that next time. altho i don't look forward to the thought of using up another half gallon of coconut milk (especially for experimentation!). :( oh well, if this actually works, i'm telling you, it will save us sooo much money, even if we only eat half of it!!

a couple weeks ago i came across this crafting blog. it covers everything crafting/baking/cooking, and i loooove it! but it's insanely busy with new posts, like 50+ a day!! but i've discovered some really great blogs thru it, including annie's eats that i wrote about when i tried her red velvet whoopie pies for v-day (her salsa recipe is sooooo good!! i'll never buy salsa again!!) and sprinkle bakes who makes the most decadent, delicious looking desserts and treats ever!! i wish i had the time and energy to really try some of these! annie has so many really great looking appetizers (like her baked egg rolls, pizza bites, hot bean and cheese dip), it makes me want to throw a party so i can try out her recipes!! not a big party, just a little gathering, cuz i only want to make a few things. :) and i want to try making her bagels next. i'm on a total "make everything from scratch" kick lately, and i find it not only tastes better to make everything from scratch, but it's super easy and quick, and healthy and less expensive!! what's not to love?!
