last night was our neighbor's halloween party, the one we were dreading cuz we hate dressing up for halloween. i was gonna go the easy route and wear all black, get some cat ears and paint whiskers on my face and call myself a cat. :) but W was having a hard time coming up with something. i saw an orange prisoner jumpsuit at walmart, so he decided to be a jail bird. i decided i'd be a cop, and just wore a button up shirt, black pants, bought a police cap and badge. we were at party city, and they had the plug and socket costume! lol...i thought it would be a little inappropriate (maybe if we were going to a friend's party, but this was our neighbor...trying to be more on the conservative side). funny thing tho, there was another couple there as the plug and socket! hilarious. there was also a white trash couple, lots of rockies players/fans, "the world wide web" and "not a full deck of cards" among others.
we also met some new neighbors, whom we hadn't met yet (even tho they moved in a month ago). turns out that they're about our age, and seem really cool. we got along with them great and hope we can get to know them better and actually hang out with them more. they've got 2 cute little girls, so our future kids will have neighborhood playmates! that was one of my concerns cuz everyone here has older kids in high school and it seemed like our kids would have no one to play with. we also have other new neighbors across the street who sound like a young family too. yea! :) we need more young couples in our 'hood!
and adding to my list of pumpkin stuff i've eaten this season...of course i've had my pumpkin spice latte from starbucks, and on friday went to cheesecake factory with some coworkers and got a slice of pumpkin pecan cheesecake (more than half still in the fridge cuz i'm savoring it). :) a coworker also made really good pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting last week. another coworker's boyfriend baked really dry pumpkin bread which i didn't care for, and also a pumpkin cobbler which sounded good but turned out to be really gross. blech. remind me not to eat anything he bakes. i think i might bake some pumpkin bread, but i want to get a pumpkin and roast it just like L did. sounds much better than the canned pumpkin stuff. yum!
