first day at the new building...and the verdict is still mixed.

the cons:
1. the set-up of the cubes is horrible. the walls are really low, so you can hear everybody's business. and see everybody's business! there is no sense of personal space. i don't know how we're expected to work in this environment.
2. we don't have enough ppl for a water/ice machine.
3. we have one coffee machine (that also dispenses hot water for my tea), and it was broken this morning.
4. we have one copy machine and it was broken today.
5. the deli downstairs is way too expensive for what they're serving (and obviously not subsidized by lehman like our cafeteria in the old building).
6. the parking situation is okay, tho still really pissed off that we don't all get covered parking in the garage, which was nowhere near full.
7. i don't get to see all my wholesale friends anymore.
8. one side of the floor is blazing hot (that would be my side) while the other is artic cold.
9. we're on the 10th floor and i hate elevators!

the pros:
1. the commute was a breeze. coworker J and i carpooled from our old building (she lives out in the sticks), and it only took us 13 minutes to get there, 16 minutes to drive back.
2. tons of great places to eat nearby, and i mean in walking distance.

so as you can see, there are many more cons than pros. i'm not thrilled, but it's not that bad. just need time to adjust. i'm hoping we grow out of the space soon (which is a good possibility if we continue to grow our team), and have to move back. :)
