my next door neighbor invited me to a silpada party. it's kinda overpriced sterling silver/gemstone jewelry. my coworker brought in a catalog a couple months ago, so i knew how overpriced it was. but i went anyway, knowing i wouldn't buy anything (i didn't even take my wallet), cuz i like N and thought it would be nice to socialize with our neighbors a bit. it's nice hanging out with them and all, because everyone is so nice and always tries to include me. but they're all like 15+ years older than me. we really don't have much in common. they all talk about their children and their hockey stuff and what classes they're taking, yada yada yada. nothing in common. but i don't want to be the neighbor that never hangs out. you know? they must realize that it's awkward for me to be there. right?
