last night was my company holiday party. it's been a really long time since i got to go to a nice company holiday party. my first year at BAL we had a nice holiday party at the marriott fisherman's wharf. everyone dressed up fancy and there was good food and drinks. the year after, the firm wasn't doing so well, so we had a holiday lunch, employees only. it was nice, but nothing like the year before. then when i worked at the Ritz-Carlton, we didn't have holiday parties cuz everyone was busy working one of the busiest times of the year. so we had anniversary parites in march instead, which was lame cuz we were being served by our own employees. i remember my director had to work the event, which i think is horribly unfair. but what can you do, it's a hotel, open 24/7. we would have our department holiday dinners, which was nice. but still, not the same as a company holiday party. so this year, i was really excited to go to our holiday party. it was at invesco field, in the east club level. it was decorated all festive, there was a band and dancing, wine and beer, a nice buffet dinner. i couldn't believe how fancy it was! i was thinking it would be more like a cocktail party! the building i work in only has about 300 people i think, but the main building is a lot bigger. we found out that there was 1500-1700 people there! i didn't even know we had that many employees here! haha... i only saw 4 ppl i knew!
we took a tour of invesco, which i thought was the best part of the evening! we got to see what a "small suite" looked like, and it was really nice. you could have one of your own for $85,000 per season. i don't even want to know what the larger suites cost! i wonder if our company has a suite? we even got to check out the opposing team's locker room, which was HUGE. they wouldn't let us in the bronco's locker room though, darn. then we actually got to go out onto the field. it was just a really cool tour. so if anyone visiting us is a football fan and doesn't hate the broncos, let us know, it's a really neat tour! i didn't bring a camera, but here are some pics from my camera phone (not the best, but whatever). again, thank goodness for camera phones!
a reminder to the opposing team just how high they are...

for just $75 you can put your own message on this 3 story tall scoreboard!
