i love hanging out at bookstores. i always have. mainly cuz i like to read magazines without actually buying them. but other times i like to just browse the books. i used to read a LOT. but after i started college, reading became a drag, and something i only did if i had to. leisure reading totally became obsolete. when i started working, i found that reading on BART was a great way to pass the time (especially when my commute was 45 minn each way) and also a way to detract strange men from striking up a conversation with you (i tried to make it clear that i had no interest in making friends on BART without being rude, but sometimes...). now that i have more "free time" and reading isn't a requirement, i try to read more, but often times, TV watching takes precedence. sad, isn't it? i really should read more. i have 2 books on my nightstand, a book on CD in my car, and i just bought another book yesterday (okay, it's actually a cookbook, but there is some reading involved). :) too ambitious, maybe, but i keep finding more books i want to read. that's a good thing, right?

last night i got a call from a high school friend that i lost touch with several years ago. she's a musical genious. she's travelled the world playing with symphony orchestras with her 2 sisters. she graduated from harvard, and is now getting her masters in germany! what a life. it was soooo great to talk to her, cuz she is such a great person to know. i love reconnecting with long lost friends.

speaking of reconnecting, sometimes i like to read the missed connections on craig's list. pretty funny stuff. i wonder how many ppl have actually been able to connect from using that?
