one slow day at work (while at BAL), e and i started talking about our past jobs, because e has had a lot of jobs and he always had stories about each one. so i asked him how many jobs he had exactly, and he started writing them down. he had like 30 jobs. here's my list (note: these are ALL the jobs i've EVER held in my ENTIRE life, legal and not so legal):
1. Cashier at my mom's cafe (i was 9, and the register was really old and i had to do the math in my head for change!)
2. Signed up kids for summer swim lessons (during high school)
3. Algebra tutor (senior year in high school...made some extra cash)
4. Sales Cashier at Huston's Shoes at Newpark Mall (senior year, my first "real" job; i only had it for 3 months before i decided i didn't want to work there anymore)
5. Delivery Driver/Customer Service Rep for Pizza Hut in Milpitas (i think this one was the summer after high school grad, my dad made me quit after a month cuz he thought it wasn't a good idea for a "little girl" to be delivering pizzas. but boy did i make mad tips)
6. Assembler for some computer company i can't remember the name of (summer after freshman year in college; family friends owned the company and i helped them out assembling and testing cd rom drives for samsung laptops. manual labor sucks)
7. Cashier at Pacific Home Do-It Center in SLO (it was the summer before my junior year at poly, and i realized my credit card debt was not going to go away by itself. but had a lot of fun, and lots of free plants and an axe. PHDIC is like home depot, lowes, etc.)
8. Receptionist at ATG in Fremont (summer before my senior year, came home and worked, still paying off debt)
9. Coder for APS in SLO (data entry basically...was valued for my extremely fast typing and thinking skills...ha!)
10. Clerical Temp at Celebrezze and Wesley (my first taste of working in a law firm)
11. Legal Assistant [to the stars!] at BAL in SF (my first REAL job out of school...where i learned the meaning of "blog")
12. Catering Coordinator at RCHMB (me, now)
i never thought i had a lot of jobs, but when you write them all down, you find some surprises! you should try it, it's pretty interesting. i'm sure i've missed one or two...bad memory. i'm at my parent's house this weekend, house-sitting sort of, and there's an email on the desk that my dad printed out. the last line says: "Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory." guess this means i should be really happy, cuz i think i have just about the worst memory in the world!
